JSAP has seven regional chapters to promote regional activities. The JSAP autumn technical meeting is held in one of them, in rotation, whereas the spring meeting is always held in the Tokyo area.

The frontier group is the one intended for the area of investigation that is at not the field that the section association and the society target of the establishment but groundbreaking years. There is possible to which the one that grows up to a big field of research of the future appears from among that though the research that is at groundbreaking years doesn't receive acknowledgment from the society easily in general. The new area group system is the one saying that Japan Society of Applied Physics will support the independent research activity in such a field of research.
