Research Achievement Awards were established to recognize individuals who have made an outstanding achievement in particular research field.

Optics and Quantum Electronics Achievement Award

This award was established with donation from Professor Hiroshi Takuma (1930-2010, Professor Emeritus, the University of Electro Communication) and the gifts of money from his Medal with Purple Ribbon receiving party and retirement party.

Promotion and Nurturing of Female Researchers Contribution Award

This award was established with donation from Professor Kashiko Kodate (Professor Emeritus, Japan Women’s University) and the gift of money at her retirement party in hope that the opportunities for female researchers and engineers will be expanded.

Compound Semiconductor Electronics Achievement Award

This award was established with donation of prize money from Professor Isamu Akasaki (Nobel laureate, Professor, Meijo University) when he has received the Kyoto Prize in 2009. It is presented to significant progress research in the field of compound semiconductor electronics.

Past Award

Opto-electronic integrated Technology Achievement Award

This award was established with donation from Izuo Hayashi (1922-2005, Adviser of the Optoelectronics Technology Research Laboratory) in 2003 and concluded in 2013.
