We developed an electron two-path interferometer, in which the phase of an electron wave in a solid can be measured (SEM image was provided by Dr. Shintaro Takada at AIST). This interferometer has allowed us to perform reliable phase measurement for the first time. In addition, the measurement can be done so accurately that one can find change of the path length by less than 1nm. In the measurement of the scattering phase by an artificial atom, we obtain the scaling energy of the system in precision of about 10mK. (p.96)
