Frontier of spin-orbitronics
Spin-orbitronics is the field in which we pursue the further development of spintronics by utilizing the orbital degree of freedom of electrons. Spin-orbit interactions that lead to spin-orbit torque for efficient spin control and the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction for chiral spin structures, are key aspects of spin-orbitronics. The advantage of using antiferromagnets and ferrimagnets in spin-orbitronics is also described.
