Generation of spin-orbit torques using metal oxides and molecular control of charge-spin currents conversion
Spin-orbit coupling enables the conversion between charge and spin currents. The charge-spin conversion is responsible for the operation of spin-orbit devices. Furthermore, charge-spin conversion plays a key role in emergent phenomena and functionalities arising from spin currents. In this article, we discuss the recent advances in spin-orbitronics, a new direction for spintronics: spin-torque generation and magnetization switching using metal oxides and photo-tuning of charge-spin conversion through molecular self-assembly.
