JOINT ACTIVITIES
JSAP and IEEE shall plan and exercise joint activities in various areas. The areas described below may change from time to time during the course of discussions. If the parties decide that it would be mutually beneficial to proceed with one or more of these activities, under the terms and conditions to be defined, then a separate agreement would be negotiated. The areas being considered are:
- (a)Co-sponsor conferences and forums.
- (b)Publish academic and educational materials.
- (c)Act to protect the natural environment.
- (d)Promote the education of math and science for children.
- (e)Promote the benefits of science and technology to the general public.
- (f)Improve the perception of the role of engineers and scientists in society.
INFORMATION EXCHANGE
JSAP and IEEE shall, subject to availability, provide and exchange the following information to the other party:
- (a)Technical papers and other publications.
- (b)Schedules of international conferences and other major events.
- (c)Advise and share experience in organizing international conferences and other major events.
OTHER COOPERATION
JSAP and IEEE agree to provide the following benefits to the members of the other party:
- (a)Subscriptions of its publications at the discounted rate.
- (b)Discount rate shall be defined under the separate agreement.
- (c)Use of its facilities, services and certain programs under the same conditions as offered to its own members.
JSAP and IEEE further agree to encourage its members to join the membership of the other party.
