Development of nanogranular transparent ferromagnetic material
Here we present nanogranular films exhibiting ferromagnetic properties with high optical transparency in the visible light region. These films have a nanocomposite structure, in which nanometer-sized Fe-Co ferromagnetic granules are dispersed in fluoride ceramics matrix. The optical transmittance of these films is controlled by changing the magnetization. This is a new type of magneto-optic effect. This new magneto-optical effect is caused by a change in the dielectric constant due to the TMD effect.
